Trai Essex and Jonathan Scott to compete with Mike Adams, Starks not contacted

The Steelers have a vacant left tackle position at the moment.  The best bet is that Mike Adams is going to fill that void.  He will have competition at that spot according to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.  Veterans Jonathan Scott and Trai Essex will compete with Adams for the starting spot.

Steelers sign 7th round pick Kelvin Beachum

The Steelers are now almost done signing draft picks.  They signed 7th round pick Kelvin Beachum.  Beachum signed a 4 year deal.  Beachum is the 7th of nine draft picks to sign.  As soon as David DeCastro and Sean Spence are signed the Steelers will be ready to head to camp.  They may sign another […]

Steelers sign Trai Essex

Trai Essex posted on twitter that he is back with the Steelers.  Essex will compete as a back up and will probably play the swing role that he has played over the past few seasons.  The Steelers still need depth at all offensive line positions and Essex can play them all.

Chris Kemoeatu to Start Against Browns

In a surprising move the Steelers are going to start Chris Kemoeatu against the Cleveland Browns.  Starter Doug Legursky is out for the Steelers and was expected to be replaced by Trai Essex.  Essex played one of the best games of his life last week.  To put Kemo in over him is insulting.

10 Observations for Rams at Steelers

The Steelers upped their record to 11-4 today with a shutout win against the Rams.  The Steelers now need to win next week and hope Cincinnati beats Baltimore and they can win the division.  It was a good game today.  We did what we had to do to get the victory.

Chuck Batch-  Batch […]

Steelers Down Two Offensive Linemen on First Drive

The Steelers lost Marcus Gilbert in the pregame to causes unknown.  Jonathan Scott ended up starting in his place.  Doug Legursky is in the locker room now with what appears to be an arm or shoulder injury.  Trai Essex has moved to center.  Chris Kemoeatu has replaced Essex at Left Guard.

We will update as […]

Charlie Batch Not Dixon To Start if Roethlisberger Can Not Play

The Steelers made it clear today that Charile Batch will start if Ben Roethlisberger can not play Monday.  Dennis Dixon will be dressed this week for security purposes.  Roethlisberger did not practice today but still is expected to play Monday.  Batch will get his first start of the year if Ben can’t go.  It will […]

Steelers Round Up: Stray hands, disappearing fish and Thanksgiving”>httpv://

It’s been a long couple of weeks with the Steelers on the bye, good thing we had Crosby to distract us.  The Steelers are coming off the bye in a great position to make a good run, only two more teams with winning records left to face, the Bengals and the 49ers (who were hoping […]

Steelers Round Up: Bad Pizza, Tiny Shirts and Eye Black

So, happy to writing after a big win with hopefully another big win coming up.    And some really great stuff for the round up this week which makes it equally as exciting.

First off LaMarr Woodley has teamed with a company making eye black that features his signature post sack kick.  It’s pretty sweet looking.  […]

3 Keys to Victory: Steelers at Texans

The game on Sunday between the Texans and the Steelers could be a very important win for both teams early in the season.  For both it would be a signature win.  Both teams are 2-1 and they both want to get as far above .500 as they can.  This game means a little more to […]

4 Key Match Ups: Steelers at Texans

The Steelers won last week but it wasn’t pretty.  The Colts are an awful team and they drove us right down to the wire.  We face a much better Texans team this week with a potent offense.  They can score any time they want.  They have the weapons to do so.  We will see what […]

Steelers Projected 53 Man Roster Version 2

We are down to the final week of the preseason and the Steelers have until Saturday to make their final cuts.  The team will have 53 players on the roster and be ready to start the season.  Here are my projections for each spot.

Ben Roethlisberger Charlie Batch Dennis Dixon

Running Back

Rashard Mendenhall […]

Steelers Sign Trai Essex

The Steelers resigned Trai Essex to a one year contract yesterday.  Essex was a starter in 2009 and a serviceable back up in 2010.  Essex knows the system and can back up each of the positions on the offensive line.  This signing says to me that Jonathan Scott is more hurt then the Steelers are […]

Can the Steelers Slow Down Terrell Suggs?

Terrell Suggs has had the Steelers number as of late.  He has registered 2.5 sacks this season against the Steelers.  He would have had more if not for a great effort by Ben Roethlisberger to scramble away from Suggs while he was in Suggs grasp.

In the last game versus the Steelers Suggs had 1.5 […]

5 Up and 5 Down: Steelers at Saints

After going over the film last night I saw some glaring things that stood out to me.  I won’t do all 5 up and five down since it is already Wednesday but here are some of the good and bad from the game.  We lost so down goes first.

5 Down

Trai Essex-  He may […]
