Steelers Sign Ryan Baker and Release Brandon Lindsey

The Steelers made a roster move.  They released outside linebacker Brandon Lindsey of Pitt and signed OLB Ryan Baker in his place.  Baker like Lindsey was an undrafted free agent.  He played for LSU last season.  Baker will hope to make this team due to his special teams play.

Would there be a Revis Island if the Jets had not traded ahead of the Steelers?

Back in 2007 heading up to the NFL Draft I had an obsession with 3 players on defense.  I thought there were 3 game changing guys in that draft.  Those three players were Patrick Willis, LaMarr Woodley and Darrelle Revis.  The rest of the draft was solid but these three guys were going to […]

Brock Osweiler Can’t Get Tood Graham’s Attention Either

Tino Sunseri should not feel as bad about how Todd Graham treated him at Pitt.  Graham treats possible first round picks that way as well.  Graham is already running talent out of Arizona State because he is just as big a jerk there as he was at Pitt.  Arizona State Quarterback Brock Osweiler who […]

Steelers Will Face Tyler Palko When They Come Back From Bye Week

The Steelers will face off against a familiar face when they come back from the bye week.  Former Steelers, Pitt and West Allegheny Quarterback Tyler Palko will make his second career start versus his hometown team when the Chiefs take on the Steelers.  He will make his first career start this week versus the New […]

PITT Officially Joins the ACC

The Pittsburgh Panthers and Syracuse have officially joined the ACC.  They make the 13th and 14th school to join the division.  This is a step up in the football world but it may be a lateral step in the basketball world.  The ACC wants to create a 16 team league.  The 2 other schools they […]

PITT Applies to Join ACC

The Pittsburgh Panthers have applied to join the ACC.  The team wants to leave the Big East and head to a conference that is more respected around the nation.  No one shows the Big East any love and the move could be good for the Panthers in football.

This just shows you how important football […]

Dorin Dickerson Signs with Steelers

Former Pitt Standout Dorin Dickerson signed with the Steelers today.  Dickerson played Tight End at Pitt and in his one season in the NFL he played Wide Receiver for the Texans.  Dickerson struggled as a wide receiver.  He would play more of an H-Back role for the Steelers.

Dickerson was signed to the practice squad.  […]

Pitt’s Hynoski to Sign with Giants

Former Pittburgh Panther Fullback Henry Hynoski will be a New York Giant this season.  I was hoping Hynoski would end up a Steeler.  He would have been a good fit.  He will be suiting up for the G Men though.

Pitt’s DeCicco Signs with Bears

Former Pittsburgh Panther Dom DeCicco has joined the Chicago Bears.  DeCicco played Safety while at Pitt.  He will be an Outside Linebacker in Chicago.  He received interest from the Bills, Bears, Saints and Steelers.  DeCicco chose the Bears over his hometown team because the Bears gave him a pre draft visit.  He felt comfortable with […]

Steelers Prospect Visits

The Steelers have started their prospect visits this week.  It was their first in a line of many heading into the NFL Draft.  The visits will start to pick up at the beginning of next month.  Most Pro Days will have finished by the first weekend in April.  That is when the Steelers will start […]

Catch Versus the Carrier Dome – Panthers/Orange Liveblog

The Panthers make another trip to my least favorite of all sporting venues, the Carrier Dome, for a noontime kickoff today and I will be here covering all of today’s “action” live through your web browser in order to celebrate the start of Big East play.  So good riddance out of conference schedule, may you […]

News and Notes – 9/1

– The Panther injury report for tomorrow’s game against the Utes is out and it looks pretty encouraging as Greg Romeus and Ray Graham are both listed as probable.  I don’t expect Graham to quite carry his normal load but his mere availability helps the Panthers a good bit in a hostile environment.  No Pitt […]

An Extremely Premature Top 25 Recap: Where Will Pitt Fit?

So with the tournament over and a few early NBA draft entries declared (including the entire Kentucky team), most major publications have taken the opportunity to put out some ridiculously speculatory top 25 rankings for next season, and every single one of them has Pitt in the top 10 with a few of them ranking […]
