Steelers place 6 players on PUP List to start camp

The Steelers have started off this years training camp with 6 players on the Physically Unable to Perform List.  The Steelers do not have to list official injuries until week 1 of the regular season.  Many of the players were expected to be on this list.  There are no surprises here.

Players on PUP List:

Mike Adams still first in line to start at Left Tackle

With the return of Max Starks to the Steelers many are questioning who will be the starting Left Tackle.  It still looks though as if there will not be a question to who the starter is.  Starks basically answered that question for us in an interview with WDVE.  Starks plans to start the preseason […]

Steelers Release Jonathan Scott, More Money Open for Wallace

In a move that was basically inevitable the Steelers released Jonathan Scott.  Scott was awful last season and was projected to make 2.2 million dollars this year.  The Steelers have only kept him on the roster this long because they had no other option.  Once Max Starks resigned with the team that gave the Steelers […]

Steelers sign Max Starks to one year deal

The Steelers have signed Max Starks to a one year deal according to Ed Bouchette.  Starks has been rehabbing his surgically repaired knee this summer.  He had yet to sign with a team due to his health.

Starks will come in and compete with Mike Adams for the Left Tackle position.  He will provide good […]

Trai Essex and Jonathan Scott to compete with Mike Adams, Starks not contacted

The Steelers have a vacant left tackle position at the moment.  The best bet is that Mike Adams is going to fill that void.  He will have competition at that spot according to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.  Veterans Jonathan Scott and Trai Essex will compete with Adams for the starting spot.

I […]

Max Starks plans to be ready by mid July

Max Starks tweeted that his rehab is going well and hopes to be ready by July.  That is good news for Starks.  He can get into someone’s camp and make an impact on a team.  Could that team be the Steelers?  It is possible but it will depend on the draft.

The Steelers head into […]

Steelers 2012 Team Needs: Left Tackle”>Sanders

The Steelers go into the offseason with no Left Tackle.  The most important position on the line is vacant at the moment.  Max Starks is having ACL surgery so he is out of the picture for the moment.  He is also a Free Agent so he was not a given anyways.  Jonathan […]

Max Starks to Have ACL Surgery

Steelers Offensive Tackle Max Starks is scheduled to have surgery on his torn ACL.  Starks was injured against the Broncos and did not play in the second half.  Starks will be an unrestricted free agent moving forward.  This is not good news for Starks as he struggled with weight issues when he injured his neck […]

Steelers 2012 Free Agents: Who is In? Who is Out?

I made a free agent list earlier in the week to see who the Steelers could potentially be losing in the offseason.  Now lets go a bit deeper and see who I think will stay and who will go.  The Steelers have some key names on this list.  Lets see where they are headed.

Unrestricted […]

Steelers Have Four Players Possibly Headed In for Surgery

The Steelers came away with many big injuries on Sunday.  They lost Casey Hampton and Max Starks to ACL injuries.  They also lost Brett Keisel to a major groin injury and Maurkice Pouncey has been down for a while with a high ankle sprain.  All four of these guys will most likely be getting some […]

Max Starks and Casey Hamptom both have ACL injuries

During Mike Tomlin’s noon press conference today we got a plethora of injury updates.  Among the significant ones, was that both Casey Hamptom and Max Starks suffered injuries to their ACL’s.  There will be tests done today to determine whether those injuries will require surgery.

Steelers at Broncos Halftime Notes

The Steelers took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and then got dominated in the second.  The score at the half is 20-6.  The Broncos get the ball to start the third quarter.

Halftime Notes:

Ike Taylor forgot to get off the bus. Ben Roethlisberger can not walk.  Let alone throw.  He is high […]

Key Match Ups: Steelers at Broncos

It is playoff time.  Every match up counts.  The season is on the line.  It is the best time of year.  Chasing that seventh Lombardi Trophy is all that matters now.  The goal is in sight.  The Steelers are going to have a few match ups that will be especially important in the game.  One […]

Coach Tomlin Needs to Grow a Pair When It Comes to Ben Roethlisberger

I have a little beef with Coach Tomlin right now about Ben Roethlisberger.  I am fine with him getting the start which he should have.  This game was too important not to have him start.  Later in the game though you have to grow a pair and take the man out.  Whether he […]

10 Observations from Steelers at 49ers

The Steelers came out and laid an egg last night.  They only put up 3 points on the board and gave up 20.  They looked flat from the first minute on.  The team tried to keep in the game but one big mistake on almost every drive on both offense and defense kept San Francisco […]
