Smith, Farrior, Ward and Kemo officially released by the Steelers

The Steelers made it official yesterday releasing James Farrior, Hines Ward, Aaron Smith and Chris Kemoeatu.  The four veterans are free to go and negotiate with other teams.  Chris Kemoeatu has already started.  His agent has been in contact with three teams.

Aaron Smith is the only one expected to retire.  Hines Ward and Farrior are […]

Steelers to release Kemoeatu and Smith

As the Steelers continue to shave down to meet the cap in less than two weeks, two more long time Steelers bit the dust today.  As sad as it is, I don’t believe many are surprised about the Steelers parting ways with Aaron Smith.  Though one of the best Defensive ends ever he has been plagued with […]

Willie Colon’s cap number makes it hard to cut him

Steelers offensive tackle Willie Colon who has only played one game in the last two seasons is on my list of guys who should be gone this offseason.  After looking at all the cap numbers and potential cost savings to the Steelers by players who could be released it looks like we will be […]

Steelers at Browns Halftime Notes

The Steelers enter the half down 6-3.  They are not playing bad but they are not in rhythm.  The game looks like it is going to be close the whole way through.

Halftime Notes:

Ben Roethlisberger is rusty.  He started really slow.  The Steelers are calling plays that get the ball out of Roethlisberger’s hand […]

Chris Kemoeatu to Start Against Browns

In a surprising move the Steelers are going to start Chris Kemoeatu against the Cleveland Browns.  Starter Doug Legursky is out for the Steelers and was expected to be replaced by Trai Essex.  Essex played one of the best games of his life last week.  To put Kemo in over him is insulting.

Chris Kemoeatu Named a Pro Bowl Alternate. Now Ike Taylor Has Beef

Chris Kemoeatu was named a third alternate at guard for the 2012 Pro Bowl.  This just shows that they might as well just let the fans vote because the players are just as bad.  Chris Kemoeatu does not even start for his own team.  He was benched and only gets in when other guys get […]

Steelers Down Two Offensive Linemen on First Drive

The Steelers lost Marcus Gilbert in the pregame to causes unknown.  Jonathan Scott ended up starting in his place.  Doug Legursky is in the locker room now with what appears to be an arm or shoulder injury.  Trai Essex has moved to center.  Chris Kemoeatu has replaced Essex at Left Guard.

We will update as […]

10 Observations from Browns vs. Steelers

The Steelers pushed their record to 10-3 with a 14-3 victory over the Browns.  Here are some observations from the game.

Observations:

Injuries-  The Steelers took some big hits today.  Ben Roethlisberger has a high ankle sprain.  Maurkice Pouncey has a high ankle sprain.  We also saw Troy Polamalu miss the last series with a […]

Steelers Should Move Maurkice Pouncey to Left Guard

The Steelers have a Pro Bowl Center in Maurkice Pouncey.  He is the best lineman on the team and one of the best lineman in the league.  He will be the Steelers center for years to come.  He will hold down the position and anchor the line for the next 10 years.

All that […]

Steelers Doug Legursky to Start at Left Guard

The Steelers have promoted offensive lineman Doug Legursky to starter at Left Guard.  He will replace 4 year starter Chris Kemoeatu.  Thank God.  I have been clamoring for this all season.  Kemo is a brainless, penalty machine and was the last person left on the line to be replaced.  There is a completely new starting […]

10 Observations From Steelers at Bengals

The Steelers pulled out a win versus the Bengals today to take a 7-3 record in to the bye week.  The Steelers will be no worse then second in the AFC North and most likely no worse then 3rd in the AFC.  The Steelers look to be in good position on the way to the […]

Steelers Kemoeatu Fined $25k by NFL

Steelers Guard Chris Kemoeatu was fined $25,000 by the NFL this week.  It was for two separate incidents in last Sunday’s game vs. the Cardinals.  He was fined $15k for a late hit and $10k for a hands to the face call.  Both plays were penalized and both plays were stupid and hurt the Steelers […]

10 Observations from Steelers at Cardinals

The Steelers picked up a big win today versus the Cardinals.  They are now 5-2 and face off against New England next week.  This big win going in to the roughest stretch of our season was a big thing for us.  Here are some things I saw from today’s game.

Observations:

LaMarr Woodley is out […]

Legursky Ruled Out for Steelers

Steelers Left Guard Doug Legurksy will be out a minimum of this week with dislocated toes.  The injury is expected to take a few weeks to heal.  Replacing Legursky on the line will be Chris Kemoeatu who will be returning from a nagging knee injury.

The Steelers look to also still be without Casey Hampton, […]

No concussion for Troy Polamalu will play vs. Arizona

Great news for the Steelers, bad news for Kevin Kolb.  Mike Tomlin announced that Polamalu who was kept out of the remainder of the game on Sunday after taking down Maurice Jones-Drew because of concussion-like symptoms has tested negative for a concussion.  Tomlin said that Polamalu will be practicing with the team as normal this […]
