Casey Hampton tried to avoid going under the knife so that he could play next season. That is not going to plan. Hampton will be headed under the knife on Friday to repair his torn ACL. The Surgery will be Hampton’s 3rd time having ACL Surgery. The second time on this knee.
The Steelers just became very thin at Nose Tackle. If Hampton can not play the Steelers will have to release him from his large cap number of $4.89 Million. That puts the Steelers in a sticky spot as Chris Hoke just retired today. This could also spell the end for Hampton. That is bad news for the Steelers. The position just became a very large priority.
