Early Injuries

Casey Hampton missed second practice with a hamstring.

Jonathan Dwyer also missed second practice with a hamstring.

Neither injury is considered serious.  It is one of the most common injuries in the first few days of camp.

Steelers Arrive in Shape

The Steelers start every year with a run test and, in a rather good sign, this year’s run test was passed by all.  Of course, some of the veterans such as Hines Ward, Aaron Smith and Casey Hampton were given a pass due to their years of service with the team so who knows what […]

Pirates Have Busy Afternoon At the Deadline

Clearly not content to simply sit back and say, “You know, Chris Snyder was the one piece that this team really needed right now.” Pirate General Manager Opie N. Huntington, Esq quickly made a pair of deals in the afternoon using the one area of the team where there was an actual surplus of veteran […]

Pirates Acquire Chris Snyder

In what has all of the makings of a straight salary dump trade coming out of Arizona, the Diamondbacks are poised to trade backup catcher Chris Snyder and cash to the Pirates with the only remaining hold-up to the trade at this point being the approval of the commissioner’s office of the amount of cash […]

Pouncey Signed

Maurkice Pouncey has officially signed and is ready to start camp.

We are only about an hour away from the start of the greatest time of the year.  I can’t say it any better then LaMarr Woodley did on his twitter page.

Pouncey Expected to Sign Before 4 pm Start of Training Camp

Per Steelers Depot Maurkice Pouncey, the only Steelers draft pick left sign a contract, is expected to sign a deal before the 4 pm start of training camp today.

Things were moving slowly but now that many of the first round picks are starting to sign, Pouncey’s negotiations began to pick up speed. What made […]

Steelers sign Flozell Adams

The Steelers have signed OT Flozell Adams to a 2 year deal this afternoon.  Adams had been in Pittsburgh a few weeks back for a workout and after not signing Adams at that time the Steelers have now decided to add him to the line up.

Adams played his whole career for the Cowboys and […]

It’s Football Season- Are You Ready?

On the eve of the official beginning of the Steelers football season, I want to take this opportunity to get everyone excited and ready for this season.  It’s been a rough offseason, but we have powered through.  We ended on a good note with the extension of Colbert’s contract and coming into camp with a […]

Terrell Chestnut Makes Two

It certainly has been a good past couple of days for Coach Wannstedt and the Panthers on the recruiting trail as today 4-star QB/CB/S/ATH/what-have-you Terrell Chestnut committed to join the 2011 recruiting class.  Chestnut’s commitment takes the number of 4-star incoming Panthers to four and Pitt will hope to keep this momentum going as they […]

Trolling the Boards: Poteat Commitment Edition

There is a certain low-level brainwashing among that small subset of college football fans who follow closely the whims of high school players and where they may be heading that if a player deigns not to choose their school then the only conceivable reason is that it was somehow because the school was never all […]

Steelers Sign Worilds to Four Year Contract

The Steelers and rookie linebacker Jason Worilds agreed to a 4 year contract last night according to the Post-Gazette.  Financial details have not been made available at this time (although The Show had some speculative numbers).  That leaves only first round draft pick Maurkice Pouncey unsigned.  The Steelers will definitely try and have him signed […]

Colbert Resigned

In the best news the Steelers have heard this offseason, the Steelers have resigned Director of Football Operations Kevin Colbert to a five year extension.

Colbert has been with the team since 2000 and is one of the best judges of talent in the league.  He brings in good draft class after […]

Worilds Expected to Sign Thursday

Jason Worilds’ agent stated today that Worilds is expected to sign with the team on Thursday and be in camp with his teammates on Friday.

Worilds will be the next to last draft pick to sign.

Update: The deal is said to a 4 year deal worth 3.7 million.  It is said to have 1.9 […]

Pitt Adds Another to the Fold

At his 3 PM press conference at Bishop McDevitt High School, highly rated running back Jameel Poteat played the hat game with Pitt, Rutgers, USC, Florida and Tennessee (tellingly PSU was again nowhere to be found) before finally putting the Panther hat on his head and joining the 2011 class.  Pitt had long been considered […]

Pirate Moves – Call Ups and Dead Line Deals

With the trade deadline fast approaching, it is clearly time for another list of Pirate quick hitters.  Some of these may contain actual news content, but the vast majority are ham-fisted analysis, outright hearsay and 75% libelous material.  Read on at your own peril, really.

– Brendan Donnelly was apparently surprised to be DFA’ed the […]
