According to WPXI, Santonio Holmes was removed from a flight in Pittsburgh Thursday night for being a “disruptive passenger”. It sounds like he wouldn’t turn his iPod off when he was supposed to and made a stink about it. Lame. I hate those people that don’t follow rules on airplanes. Well, at least he isn’t […]
Did anyone read the article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette this morning? I did and now I have even more questions about the Steelers’ wretched second day.
The Steelers drafted Jason Worilds in the second round. We all know that already, and many of us are underwhelmed by it. But what we didn’t know was […]
The Pirates won another one of their statistical oddities last night, this time defeating Los Angeles by a count of 2-0 in front of 40,000 stunned Dodger fans. Brian Burres wasn’t dominant in his start by any means. He threw only 46 of his 93 pitches for strikes in 5.1 innings, but it was good […]
Some more great news for the Pens! Sidney Crosby was named a finalist for the Hart Trophy. The Hart Trophy goes to the player that is the most valuable to his team during the regular season. The other two finalists are Alex Ovechkin from the recently ousted Capitals and Vancouver forward Henrik Sedin.
Per PFT, Nike is going to stand behind Roethlisberger in his endorsement deals. Nike stated that Ben is still in there Roster of Athletes sporting their apparel.
I realize Nike is only out to make money but at least someone is standing behind Ben.
Round 1 has ended, but not without its fair share of drama and upsets. Now, can round 2 live up to the hype that the first round provided? I have a hunch that hockey fans won’t be disappointed.
The NHL itself couldn’t be happier with round one as every series was competitive, except for the […]
The Penguins gained a surprise opponent in the Second Round as the Montreal Canadiens won three straight elimination games against the mighty Washington Capitals and Alex Overratedechkin, capping it off with a 2-1 win in tonight’s game 7. Former Penguin Dominic Moore scored the series winner assisted by fellow former-Pen Hal Gill but the star […]
More strange Pirate voodoo in today’s get-away afternoon tilt with the Brewers as the PBC pulls out a win in 14. Andy “Don’t Call me Adam” LaRoche and Andrew “Don’t Call me Daniel” McCutchen went back to back in the 1st inning to stake the Pirates to a 3-0 lead which Paul Maholm promptly gave […]
Once a week here at BB&G, we round up the best of the week in Pittsburgh sports that you missed while you were ignoring the Pirates.
– Leading off over at Black and Gold Tchotchkes, The Starter Wife was taught an important lesson about crime by Google.
– Meanwhile tecmo checked in with birds who […]
You know it’s bad when Eminem is rapping about you. In one of his latest songs titled Despicable, Eminem paid homage to Ben Roethlisberger’s possible bathroom sexcapades.
“…I’d rather turn this club into a bar room brawl. Get as rowdy as Roethlisberger in a bathroom stall”
I have a feeling this is never going to […]
Let’s take a look at some of the guys to watch coming into the 2010 College Football season. Not all of these players will be first round picks but simply guys to watch during the season. We will start with the guys on the Defensive side of the ball, the Defensive Line.
Defensive Line- If […]
Bryant McFadden reached common ground with the Steelers on a contract for the next 3 seasons. The deal is worth 7.5 million over those next 3 years.
McFadden took a paycut in the deal. His alternative was to get cut from Arizona, so the team reworked a deal that is more favorable for […]
Its amazing what happens when your starting pitcher doesn’t come out and immediately lose you the baseball game. Jeff Karstens wasn’t great last night but he battled for 6.2 innings and generally kept the Brewers off of the scoreboard which is sometimes all that you need. Or at least it was last night because the […]
Any official announcement for the vacant Pitt men’s basketball assistant coach job will probably not be coming for over another month, but the word from people close to Dave Leitao is that he is extremely interested in the post. Money isn’t a concern for the former Virginia and DePaul head coach as he is still […]
The Steelers inked an undrafted free agent deal with Vanderbilt center Bradley Vierling today, because there obviously needs to be a million-bajillion linemen in Latrobe this summer. This brings the UFA tally to nine:
Bradley Vierling – C/Vanderbilt AJ Trump – C/Miami Dorian Brooks – G/James Madison Kyle Jolly – T/North Carolina Demetrius Taylor – DE/Virgina […]
